Plant-based leather: One of the most popular eco-friendly new materials in 2026, including pineapple-leather, apple-leather, cactus-leather and so on. Pineapple-leather is made from extracted coarse pineapple leaf fibers, featuring light weight, breathability and wear resistance. It has been widely used in the 2026 spring and summer collections of Li-Ning, ANTA and other brands. Apple-leather is produced from cellulose extracted from apple pomace, with a texture close to lambskin, free of formaldehyde and heavy metals, and it does not crack after 20,000 bends. Cactus-leather, originating from Mexico, entered the Chinese market at the end of 2025. It is scratch-resistant, fold-resistant and breathable, making it suitable for outdoor shoes, cargo bags and other products.
